RISE & Resist
Small words, big impact. A workshop designed to help middle school and high school students stand up against everyday bias
This interactive workshop introduces students ages 10–17 to the principles of RISE—Recognize, Interrupt, Speak, Empower—a framework designed to help young people build the skills they need to stand up against everyday bias. Participants will learn what microaggressions are, why they’re harmful, and how to handle tough moments with strength and care for themselves.
Through real-life examples, open discussion, and a resilience-building activity, students will explore identity, empathy, and practical strategies to support themselves and others. Together, we’ll build the awareness, language, and strength to RISE and create more inclusive communities.
This workshop is perfect for schools, youth programs, affinity groups, after-school groups, and community centers seeking to:
- Promote empathy and inclusivity
- Support youth voice and empowerment
- Create safer and more connected environments
Bring RISE & Resist to your school or community
